Booking.com - world’s #1 accommodation site and 3rd largest global e-commerce player - is looking for a Senior Solution Consultant - this is how we call it at Booking - to join the Connectivity Professional Services team based out of the EMEA - Amsterdam.  

Connectivity Professional Services is part of the Connectivity Partnerships team who are  responsible for managing the ecosystem of hospitality technology companies and provide IT solutions for our accommodation partners. These partners range from channel management to Property Management Systems and from online booking engines to Revenue Management. The objective of Professional Services is to become the trusted advisor for Booking.com’s network of hospitality tech partners to help them optimize for the best experience for Booking.com’s accommodations in using Booking.com as a channel.

The Senior Solution Consultant is a senior technical & business expert within Connectivity Professional Services who works with our strategic clients - such as Chains and Premier Connectivity Partners - being their trusted advisor during transformational projects for optimizing the accommodations’ experience and maximizing accommodations business in using Booking.com products and services. 

Your primary role will be to advise our strategic clients on solutioning, design and guide them in implementing technical solutions to enable their business. You inspire them on the capabilities of our products and services and drive proof of concepts, to demonstrate success. You stay on top of industry trends and act as a visionary guiding our clients on technology opportunities that enable mutual growth. 

Internally you will facilitate the feedback loop with product management- and software development teams sharing your market expertise and learnings during, and after your client engagements.

To be successful it is required you have experience in pre-sales and post-sale engagements. You have a proven track-record in leading solutioning, design and implementation discussions with senior executives. You are  well versed in pitching technical solutions backed up with business data. You are an excellent communicator with strong presentation skills who strives to consistently meet and exceed client expectations.

What You'll Be Doing

Client Relationship

Is responsible to quickly establish relationships and become a trusted advisor for all stakeholders of strategic clients.

Is responsible to lead solutioning engagements of potential Connectivity solutions between Booking.com and partner hospitality tech teams.

Is responsible to drive a transparent feedback loop from the client and market to internal stakeholders in various product teams to help prioritize the technical development of the solution, based on validated business cases and industry knowledge.

Ensures that the development and implementation of technical solutions for respective clients are part of the overall account strategy, by working closely and aligning with the responsible Commercial Managers.

Is responsible to drive effective decision-making with clients by identifying needs and motivations then translating them into actions.

Vision, Design and Execution

Is responsible to evaluate clients hospitality tech solutions by taking into account cost, stakeholders’ business requirements, technology requirements and emerging technologies.

Is responsible to assess, deeply understand and shape the solution landscape of strategic Clients by identifying opportunities to reduce complexity, coupling and accelerate the adoption of Booking.com’s Connectivity Products.

Is responsible to map business challenges to different service offerings and technology solutions based on partners' existing solution landscape.

Is responsible for leading Clients to success in optimizing the experience for their clients and therefore improving the accommodation partners’, the clients’, and our business. Is responsible to support and improve Connectivity Partner’s technical capabilities around Booking.com platform and infrastructure, by developing and delivering a scalable learning path and Architectural workshops.

What You'll Bring 

Experience building software applications

Has sufficient knowledge to build software applications by using relevant development languages and applying knowledge of systems, services and tools appropriate for the business area.

Has sufficient knowledge to maintain data security, integrity and quality by effectively following company standards and best practices.

Critical Thinking

Is able to systematically identify patterns and underlying issues in complex situations, and to find solutions by applying logical and analytical thinking and guide more junior members of the team in this topic.

Is able to constructively evaluate and develop ideas, plans and solutions by reviewing them, objectively taking into account external knowledge, initiating 'SMART' improvements and articulating their rationale and guide more junior members of the team in this topic.

Continuous Quality and Process Improvement

Is able to  identify opportunities for process, system and structural improvements (i.e performance gains) by examining and evaluating current process flows, methods and standards.

Is able to design and implement relevant improvements by defining adapted/new process flows, standards, and practices that enable business performance.

Experience with professional services, building and optimizing repeatable service offerings and creation of standard collateral.

Is able to achieve mutually agreeable solutions by staying adaptable, communicating ideas in clear coherent language and practicing active listening.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Past experience writing and publishing technical whitepapers is desirable.

Proven background

MSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field experience required.

Recommended 10+ years experience in any of the following roles: solution architect, implementation consultant, sales engineer or solution consultant.

Experience with cloud computing platforms, enterprise APIs, solution architecture within web and mobile environments and emerging computing trends. 

Experience leading and delivering technical projects,  across multidisciplinary teams,  in customer facing roles with a proven track record of effective collaborations.
