Biltmore in Asheville, NC is now hiring for a Distributions Crew Leader in Event Logistics.
The Event Logistics Distribution Crew Leader is responsible for the setup/strike and support of special events, weddings, functions, and other activities. The Distribution Crew Leader will serve as primary "lead" of rental deliveries and pickups and will report daily to the Event Logistics Supervisor while working with the other lead positions (Tent/Power and Lighting/Warehouse) on completing weekly orders. The Crew Leader will also supervise the work of staff and vendors as needed to complete the request. Other duties include: being responsible for inventory, cleaning and repairing equipment, ensuring all safety guidelines are followed, and setting up or assembling equipment on-site as needed. In addition, the Crew Leader will provide general assistance and support for leadership, the department, and the company as needed.
Physical Requirements: This position will require a physical exam at the Biltmore Clinic prior to starting work. An offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of this examination.
1. Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on a regular basis with assistance.
2. Must have a valid drivers license and be at least 19 years old.
3. Forklift certification may be required.
4. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and/or scaffolding.
5. Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper applications.
6. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
7. Will work indoors and outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions; may be exposed to dirt, dust, pollen, fumes, smoke, chemicals, and/or other particulates.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma (or GED). Additional training preferred.
2. At least two (2) years of related experience. Ideal candidates will have relevant event experience.
3. Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal/external guest service.
4. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Basic math skills a must.
5. Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; must be able to convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively.
6. Strong planning, organizational, and project/time management skills; prioritizes work and can adapt as needed. Keen attention to detail with focus on quality and service.
7. Proactive, takes initiative, and exercises good judgment; creatively problem solves and handles a variety of situations in a professional manner.
8. Can operate effectively in an intense and dynamic guest service environment.
