Home care allows for one on one care and let's a caregiver actually provide personalized care the client needs. As opposed to running up and down a hallway of 20 patients and never actually getting to know them. In home aides make a huge impact on the health and well being of the individuals they serve and is a highly rewarding job.
You would be working one on one with the client. Therefore, you must be reliable, dependable and compassionate as the client depends on the aide for activities of daily living.

Job Responsibilities include:
Activities of daily living
Light housekeeping
Bathing
Dressing
Grooming
Toileting
Nail care
Range of motion / exercises
Transfers /use of mechanical lifting devices/Hoyer Lifts
Oral feeding
Vital sign checks: temperature, pulse, respiration
Home Management Tasks: laundry, meal preparation, bed making etc.
Assisting with ambulation
Medication assistance
