- Thorough understanding of the System Development Life Cycle and object-oriented programming standards and practices.
- Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.

- Preparing detailed lab system specifications, supporting services, programs and/or applications.
- Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting these lab system specifications, services, programs and applications.
- Analyzing, reviewing, and altering programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt new requirements. Providing on call support for production systems.
- Providing support during and post system implementations and conversions.
- Assisting with the support and maintenance of lab systems, supporting services, programs and applications.
- Minimum 5-7 years of programming in an object-oriented language (Java, C#, C, etc).
- Hands-on database (Oracle, MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL) experience required
- Understanding of Java web applications, SOAP and REST web services
- A minimum of 7 years of Java experience utilizing Spring framework
- A minimum of 3 years of JPA/ORM (Hibernate), Junit, SQL, XML/XSD, HL7, JSON experience
- Hands-on database experience required. SQL querying needs to be done both by hand and in-code.
- Understanding REST web services including the JAX-RS API.
- 1+ years of GIT usage.
- Experience with Agile software development and application lifecycle management.
- Experience with Spring Boot is a huge plus. Any exposure to these technologies is also a plus: Functional programming, LIMS/LIS applications, Jira, Linux, Okta.

- License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science w/5-7 years of experience.
