Corporate IT is actively searching for an experienced hands-on Director, Data Product Engineering to help lead and deliver innovative technology-driven applications for the enterprise. We are advancing our tech capabilities and developing innovative data-driven applications to reliably deliver outstanding services at scale. In this role you will oversee our data product engineering group overseeing 3 product domains API, Data Products and Predictive internal-facing applications within the healthcare industry. The successful candidate in this position will create and lead work across multiple data application development disciplines. They will forge a roadmap for data applications, concisely communicate complex concepts, apply analytical rigor to the performance of products and features, and understand the power of simplicity in design. They will also create team multipliers through best practices like DevOps, automation, and pave the way for the team to focus on deliverables and build innovation velocity. In this role you'll be leading a team of Application/Product Managers that will create new services and capabilities that address our customer's business challenges and creates differentiated value to them. As a key leader on the team, you will play a critical role in shaping products and growing the team. ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead our team of data engineers and develop the data engineering roadmap to help us evolve our data capability and effectiveness as we build products from the ground up.
- Envision and Implement our next generation of architecture and application portfolio to help us scale.
- Serve as a senior member of the application engineering team and be proficient in assisting the business with understanding data attributes.
- Identify new opportunities and evaluate emerging technology and business issues that may be served well with custom applications.
- Recommend and justify major changes to existing products/services/processes
- Serve as a product champion by evaluating opportunities that impact the user and capabilities of the platform.
- Take complicated algorithms, code review and integrate into product features or process flows.
- Design data architecture that is simple, fault tolerant and requires little overhead.
- Design data pipelines utilizing ETL tools, event driven software or cloud functions and other streaming software.
- Partner with both data scientists and engineers to bring concepts to reality. This requires learning to speak the language of statisticians as well as software engineers.
- Develop internal data science specific tooling for solutions such as data repositories and machine learning components.
- Ensure ultimate reliability in data pipelines and enforce data governance, security and protection of our customer's information.
- Mentor data engineering team members and even data scientists in architecture and coding techniques.
