Job Description:
  • Document and test IT Disaster Recovery plans that effectively ensure continuity of business operations in the event of a disaster.
  • Report on plan maintenance and testing in support of compliance.
  • Provide DR plans and help coordinate their execution at time of disaster.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
  • Write and track reports to summarize testing and recommended remediation’s activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, test results, conclusions, and status of recommendations.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to successfully get others to buy-in and support of the Client disaster recovery program.
  • Act as a DR coordinator for continuity efforts after a major disruption event.
  • Assist with audit preparation/interviews and RFP requests.
  • Provide thought leadership towards the disaster recovery technology strategy.
  • Have a good understanding of cloud services and recovery technologies.
  • Maintain appropriate reporting and dashboards as per the team requirements, regularly assisting with the review of all plans for suitability and effectiveness.
  • Manage the creation of Disaster recovery process flows, standard operating procedures, and the appropriate training awareness materials.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner as a part of an organization team focused on exemplary customer service and quality service delivery, work independently, and work under pressure and with multiple deadlines.
  • Be available to provide 7x24 support for any emergency, which may require activation of all or part of the Disaster Recovery Plans.

Essential Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • At least 7+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably 5+ years focused on Disaster Recovery services.
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related area of study from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in planning and executing Disaster Recovery rehearsals / exercises.
  • Basic knowledge of data centre and cloud technologies including hosting, networking, cloud, storage, virtualisation, and connectivity (LAN / WAN).
  • Strong project management background and excellent organizational/communications skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and handle multiple priorities and comfort with a remote team environment.
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Available to work flexible hours – e.g., weekends to perform DR tests.
