Title: Architect / Tech Lead, Python

Location: Plano, TX (Secondary Locations – Cary, NC & Agoura Hills, CA) - REMOTE OKAY

Duration: Full-Time Employment with CLIENT

Overview:Responsible for providing strategic guidance, designs, and solution patterns to team members, is the "chief architect” for a subproduct/s. Serves as a driver and collaborator throughout development life cycle, partnering with business analysts and customers to review and optimize requirements; and, working with developers to review and validate key functionality and integration. Responsible for ensuring feasibility of design and integration with existing systems/platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Takes a high-level short to mid term plan at a product level and translate it into a strategic and tactical technology roadmaps
  • Drive the design and construction of a client's complex business problems into innovative technology solutions
  • Responsible for the architectural design and initial development and/or major revision of business software solutions
  • Define product requirements and create high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality and integration with existing systems and platforms
  • Significant strategic impact over one of the product teams
  • Solves the variety of somewhat open-ended and complex (even to the TLs and POs who presented them) problems
  • Provides technical guidance within the assigned product team
  • Ownership for the deep knowledge of major parts of the technology stack
  • Serve as a vital driver and collaborator throughout development life cycle, partnering with business analysts and customers to present, review, optimize requirements; and, working with developers to review and validate key functionality and integration
  • Complete hands-on coding and proactively mentor developers, (including paired programming)
  • Responsible for ensuring feasibility of design and integration with existing systems and platforms
  • Complete special assignments necessary to support business strategy
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrates behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Qualifications:
  • Degree in computer science, engineering or similar major
  • Experience as a Software Architect or similar role
  • 5 years of experience with software development
  • Experience with coding in various languages (C#, .NET, Java etc.)
  • Ability to identify and solve systemic architectural problems at the subproducts / teams / technical area levels
  • Ability to improve the definition of best practices and architecture with deep domain knowledge at the product or multiple team technical area levels
  • Demonstrated track record of anticipating technical problems that will fall out of features and designing solutions to overcome them.
  • Demonstrated track record of creating improvements in a single business-critical systems around stability, security, performance, and scalability
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and co-champion creation of standards for best in class of code, documentation, testing, monitoring skills and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, facilitate or actively participate in multi feature or subproduct scrum activities and rituals, help others to understand them Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex technical topics in ways that could be easily understood by junior engineers, POs or nontechnical colleagues
  • Able to collaborate across teams and build systems to address architectural gaps
  • Capable of leading small to mid size epic level efforts
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
