Senior Systems Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a services team for monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Perform advanced system administration tasks.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend and implement information technology that aligns with the business needs and meets objectives.
  • Individual will serve as the technical resource of the team
  • Lead the coordination of activities between multiple disciplines within IT and vendors on both the technical and non-technical issues pertaining to computer systems hardware and software, network infrastructure, peripheral evaluation and integration.
  • Monitor (working with our managed services team) and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with process and applications owners to implement fixes.
  • Maintain security, backup and redundancy practices
  • Lead in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Validate those services and components meet and continue to meet all their agreed performance targets and service levels.
  • Make significant contributions to the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure problems.
  • Collaborate with project and process teams to understand needs and enable them with infrastructure.
  • Participate in the creations of entire systems (Clients, Server Hardware, Network and Databases).

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft OS, VMWare and NetApp environments.
  • Must have strong experience with Active Directory, Windows Server 2012+, and Office 365 Administration.
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of Cisco based network and SDWAN environments (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Must enjoy and be effective working in an environment that requires the ability to multi-task, adapt to change, and to produce timely deliverables at high-quality standards.
  • Proven ability to work in both a team environment and exhibit a high level of individual initiative.
  • Ability to learn new technology and provide creative solutions to business needs.
  • Knowledge of firewalls and similar security appliances
  • Desire at least 5 years prior information technology and systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
