Job Description

  • Subject matter expert, programming, and technical support for automated assembly technologies and control systems

  • Perform investigations, trials, and improvements in manufacturing processes.

  • Set up machines and devices to prepare investigations as indicated.
  • Create and modify software for automated manufacturing technologies or I4.0 projects.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans according to company standards (including process flow diagrams, control plans, PFMEA, PQIs, process control documentation, standard work instructions, etc).
  • Collaborate with international partners establishing a rapport quickly and working together to meet company goals.
  • Identifies and resolves quality issues related to automated assembly technology.
  • Mentors hourly skilled associates in proactive maintenance of assigned processes, including development of qualification cards and other training material.
  • Support and perform PPAP activities related to assigned processes.
  • Identify and lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery, and utilization of manufacturing processes in order to meet Policy Deployment objectives.
  • Actively participate in daily management of area using MES and other analytics/data to meet targets and derive measures to continuously improve performance.
  • Support of all MOE3 equipment and production lines
  • Technical support of night/weekends as needed via phone (on site if required) as subject matter expert for extended downtime situations
  • Perform additional assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Control Engineering) or equivalent technical degree or finishing a BS
  • 3+ years technical experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with highly automated equipment technologies- such as robots (Staubli preferred), automated axis systems, press/torque technology, vision systems, and feeding systems.
  • PLC/Software Programming and Scripting experience (Opcon, Twincat

    , C#, Powershell)
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases and IT server concepts.
  • Experience with MES and data analytics tools (Promaster, PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Experience in high volume/technology manufacturing processes within the automotive industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and define electric drawings, pneumatic and/or hydraulic plans.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing systems and concepts (BPS).
  • Project leadership skills and the ability to prioritize workload to meet established targets.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams with a high degree of self initiative.
  • Experience utilizing problem solving techniques to solve complex manufacturing issues (Six Sigma, Shainin, 5 whys).
  • Ability to travel (including internationally) for training, projects, and IPN activities.
