Job Summary

The VMO is responsible for providing business focused technology Sourcing & Procurement, Contracting & Supplier Management services to drive supply optimization, cost efficiencies, minimize risk, and ensure supplier performance. The team is comprised of the following groups: Vendor Onboarding & Setup, Sourcing & Procurement, Contract Administration & Compliance, and Category Management. We support all Compass North American sectors and touch many lines of business including HR, Accounting and Finance, Treasury, Technology, Risk & Legal, Strategic Projects, Procurement, and Sales.

The Senior Information Technology Category Manager will lead a small team and be accountable for building effective technology vendor partnerships for the delivery and support of enterprise and customer facing solutions. Working with key stakeholder groups, primary responsibilities will encompass strategy development, managing vendor relationships and performance, facilitating support escalations, commercial and contractual compliance, and helping various organizational stakeholders connect with assigned vendors as needed. The position will encompass a varying mix of both strategic and tactical activities that must be balanced to achieve the desired results. This role will require strong relationship, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills. Some intermittent travel may be required throughout North America.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3rd party vendor management experience
  • Enterprise hardware / software licensing experience a plus
  • Significant knowledge and experience with enterprise technology solutions
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant technology or business experience
  • BA/BS Degree in business or a qualitative field
  • Strong business / commercial and financial acumen
  • Excellent written, verbal communication
  • Good presentation skills
  • Proven team leadership and consensus building experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Effective organization, planning, and problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills
