You are ready to find your purpose at work The Role We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. Architect will develop and drive the standards, development processes, systems architecture, and design patterns to support IT and business solutions. As Architect you will:

  • Responsible for overall systems design and architecture, including new solutions and patterns
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders through design and implementation, including needs analysis and system requirements
  • Define and refine methodology and standards for setup, design and implementation of the application or technology to meet the needs of the business and IT customers
  • Apply mastery of build/release, engineering, hosting, AWS, and industry best practices to design and implement systems and tools enabling the whole product development organization to rapidly deliver reliable/scalable software products and services.
  • Partner with other technical leaders to drive design and architecture decisions.
  • Drive agile planning and execution operating mechanisms: sprint planning, daily stand ups, and sprint demo/review.
  • Generate detailed system requirements with cost projections, cost benefit analysis and ROI
  • Train and mentor IT team
Additionally you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant design and architecture experience.
  • Strong experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud applications (AWS/EC2, S3).
  • Strong experience with immutable infrastructure and configuration management.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, virtualization, container orchestration, and Microservices.
  • Strong experience with relational database technology (PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, SQL Server).
  • Understanding of designing for redundancy, fault tolerance, availability, and security.
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, Kanban, or Extreme Programming methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux system operation, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Strong in automation scripting (Ansible, Python, Shell).
  • Working knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, SMTP).
  • Knowledge of IT and Security best practices (ITIL, OWASP) and compliance (ISO).
  • IT experience within managed care environment highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business process as it relates to experience in the field.
