DevOps Engineer: Modis, the leader in the IT & Engineering staffing industry, is currently interviewing candidates for the position of DevOps Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent position located Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • At least 5 years of combined experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or Development.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting applications in a production environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience writing code.
  • Experience with administration of continuous integration tools such as GitLab
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible or an equivalent
  • Experience using AWS (strongly preferred), Azure, or GCP for an end-user facing workload.
  • Experience in JavaScript or Python is a plus
  • Experience with Container and Container Management frameworks. (ex. Docker and Swarm, AWS ECS)
  • Experience working with and developing APIs is a plus.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture / microservices is a plus.
  • Experience with log collection and analysis, builds and performance monitoring/tuning of infrastructure is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus

    • Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy highly scalable, fault-tolerant solutions in AWS.
  • Write and maintain webhooks and Lambda functions to audit infrastructure, create KPIs, and automate CI/CD and data pipelines.
  • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
  • Lead ongoing efforts to automate deployments.
  • Assist development teams with debugging infrastructure and automation issues.
  • Ensure that sufficient monitors and alerts are in place and help the broader engineering team.
  • Standardize, and maintain common development tools and infrastructure, such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, infrastructure provisioning, config management, etc.
  • Create infrastructure as code to dynamically provision to manage infrastructure.
  • Work with other engineering teams to identify and implement infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring etc. improvements.
