Job Description:

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

Responsibilities:

As Global Transaction Services (GTS) Data Platform lead will be responsible for leading efforts on substantial development/support projects. This means taking ownership to ensure work is completed on time and in accordance with all requirements (functional, non-functional and compliance). Solutions must be well-designed, maintainable, and supportable, mitigate risk and have testing integrated from the outset. Candidates must possess a strong proficiency in development practices and the ability to estimate the work required to complete projects. A background in Agile development practices, including the ability to break work into stories and to streamline the SDLC. The ideal candidate should be able to work seamlessly with other teams to get the job done, while also mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Take ownership of ensuring projects meet all requirements and timelines
  • Work effectively with product owners and scrum team members to define & clarify requirements, assign priorities, perform detailed analysis, and develop robust solutions meeting business requirements
  • Lead scrum team in designing solutions to meet requirements
  • Provide leadership to scrum team members, to help ensure they have everything needed to successfully complete work. This includes reviewing work and giving guidance
  • Ensure project status, risks and impediments are clearly communicate to management
  • Proactively initiate & contribute in improvements and innovations in systems and processes

Required Skills:
  • 5 years' experience in a lead role in delivering software solutions
  • 2 years' hands-on experience in the following technologies: Hadoop, Spark, Informatica, Oracle and Linux
  • Very strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, understand and tune complex queries
  • Experience performing data analysis and knowledge of one or more of the following bank data domains: payments, deposits, trade finance, liquidity or billing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and grasp existing data models and ETL code
  • Work with minimal supervision as part of a team in a fast-paced atmosphere, with the ability to make course corrections when needed

Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or similar major or equivalent experience
