The Role We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. The Site Reliability Engineer will ensure the efficiency, reliability, and resiliency of the New York Health Plan in a proactive manner.

As a Site Reliability Engineer you will:
  • Responsible for building innovation in the areas of distributed system flow and resilience, and continuous feedback and delivery. Creating efficiency and cultural transformation through the curation of new systems and capabilities
  • Code strategies and languages by leveraging knowledge while working with customers on configuration management initiatives.
  • Coordinate and assist teams in building competencies with infrastructure using object oriented programming and configuration management domain specific language.
  • Research and develop competencies using service mesh architecture.
  • Build platforms that teams can leverage to accelerate innovation in the areas of reliability, scalability and velocity.
  • Provide operational support for Continuous Feedback and Event Analytics platform.
  • Have an innovative approach to streamline processes.

Additionally, you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience with software engineering, enterprise operations support, object oriented programming, automation and consulting with internal customers.
  • Critical thinker capable of substantiating decisions
  • Ability to react and pivot in a large IT organization
  • Experience with and broad knowledge of both application development and infrastructure administration
  • DevOps experience with Puppet, Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes
  • Experience with tools such as Splunk, DynaTrace, and Solarwinds
  • Experience extracting data from Splunk and distilling key metrics that are presented in a concise and meaningful manner
  • Experience supporting and/or developing software for TriZetto Facets suite of software
  • Experience with application and server performance evaluation
