Workplace Services Operations (WSO) is the "Tier2" escalation team for Workplace Services' technologies. In addition to providing production hotline coverage, responding to critical system alerts, and resolving client incidents, we need someone who is interested in automating existing processes, perform various changes to and post certification of IT changes to our environment, and ensure all critical technologies we support are available to help support our 24x7 operation. There will be regular opportunities to work on special projects, as well.

This position will include working a mandatory Sunday shift as part of a regular schedule. This can be a flexible 4 or 5 day work week. This position can be based in either Charlotte, NC, or Malvern, PA

In this role, you will:
  • Provide intermediate level, cross-department Tier 2/3 technical infrastructure support for issues elevated from our second line technology teams across a variety of platforms including, but not limited to: Windows 10, Office 365, Airwatch, VMWare Horizon, Microsoft SCCM, Android & iOS mobile devices, enterprise printing infrastructure, etc.
  • Ensure that production systems are operating reliably and troubleshooting them when performance is deviating from the expectation. Come up with solutions to proactively avoid problems from being seen a second time.
  • Help maintain our knowledge-focused culture through great documentation, teamwork, and constantly learning to stay up to date with the latest technology trends.
  • Maintain, monitor, and tune systems and application performance to ensure excellent service.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and/or improve system & application performance, and then work across IT teams to drive positive change.
  • Help test, install, and migrate software, patches, upgrades, applications, tools, and/or hardware across various supported platforms.
  • Ensure that all work complies with IT policies and procedures, service levels, and information security requirements.

What it takes:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as Information Technology, Technology Operations, Computer Science, etc., or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Technical certificates are a plus, such as those in the Microsoft Administrator suite of certifications.
  • Three years' experience in technical specialty, especially supporting the Windows 10 platform, and Office 365.
  • An understanding of IT infrastructure concepts: network protocols, scripting languages (preference of powershell), product testing and verification processes, software and hardware setup and configuration, log file analysis, user account management, command line usage, etc.
  • Understanding of these disciplines would be additionally helpful: mobile device management, active directory, desktop virtualization, and published applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, written and oral communication skills.
