JOB DESCRIPTION: Investigating and handling issues in a live production environment to ensure uptime on their own or by escalating it to the necessary team for fixing it. Configuring, upgrading, resizing clusters, Cluster monitoring, alerting. Managing multi zone/region availability. Defining service level indicators (SLIs), objectives (SLOs), and agreements (SLAs) for micro-services. Determining and developing architectural approaches and solutions for improving site reliability, availability, performance, and scalability for our Google Cloud Platform based applications. Configure and build tools for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for our Microservices. Develop, deploy and maintain critical applications. Develop world-class monitoring with business and technical KPIs to identify the scale, impact and root cause of issues by reducing MTTD and MTTR. Continuously review key technical metrics such as transactions errors, logging, response times, caching strategies, conversion/bounce rates & resource utilization. Implement effective monitoring & alerting strategies to ensure quicker detection of issue. Troubleshoot issues potentially involving any area of the network, systems or applications. Respond to outages and coordinate activities to restore service as quickly as possible. Involved in the implementation of strategies that increases system reliability and performance through on-call rotation and optimizing manual process. Provide mentoring and guidance to more junior level engineers; provide feedback and direction on specific engineering tasks. Perform root cause analysis and blameless post-mortem to prevent the same issue occur in future.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering or related field and 5 years of Software Engineering experience. Employer will accept single degree or combination of degrees, diplomas and/or professional experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Must have prior experience with: 5 years of experience in Java, J2EE technologies. 5 years of experience working with relational databases including Oracle or DB2. 5 years of e-commerce experience in the retail industry. 5 years of experience working on Observability/Monitoring tools including one or more of the following: (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Blue Triangle). 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC). 3 years of work experience on public/private cloud solutions (including one or more of the following: Amazon web services, Google cloud platform). 3 years of experience with Spring and Spring Boot, REST Services/ Microservices architecture. 3 years of experience working with no-sql databases including Cassandra or Couchbase. 2 years working experience with Docker and Container Orchestration solutions. And 2 years working experience with Shell scripting.
