- 7+ years of database administration, data modeling and database development experience
- Strong SQL Server database experience
- Azure cloud database experience
- Experience creating and standing up databases for applications.
- OLTP Database Modeling experience including: Primary Key Concepts, Foreign Keys Concepts, Code table, Extended Table, Relational Table Concepts, Constraints, Referential Integrity, normalization concepts
- Experience with database optimization, database performance, capacity management, improving system health by optimizing data resources.
- SQL development highly preferred
- As part of this role, the resource needs to be familiar with building Transactional data models (Conceptual, Logical, Physical), writing DDL, and creating Load sql scripts to populate new models.
- Resource must have a clear understanding of differences between OLTP databases (relational, document, graph (nice to have) and Datawarehouse solutions (star schema, fact tables, and dimensions).
- As part of this role, the resource needs to understand how to translate Business Requirements, and Application Development Requirements into logical database solutions.
- Resource should be able to make simple database changes such as add constraints, add new tables, add indexes, create data load scripts, basic sql performance management.
- Advanced skills in writing complex SQL.
- Resource should be familiar with Snowflake Integration.
- Resource will oversee and manage database related releases.
- Database optimization, database performance, capacity management, improving system health by optimizing data resources.
- Review and remediate security issues identified through NIST assessments, managing database permissions, key vault secret rotation management, Backup/recovery solutions and Archive solutions
- CQRS architectural patterns and how to implement them.
- Maintain AzDo Repository of SQL and Azure Data Factory assets for release through CI/CD pipelines
- Azure Active Directory, Azure Resource Configurations, Azure Key Vault, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Databases solutions, Azure Cosmos Database solutions, and Azure Storage.
- Team with DevOps Engineers to maintain AzDo Repository of Infrastructure as Code (Bicep) code for maintaining Azure Data Resources for release through CI/CD pipelines.
- As part of this role, this resource needs to understand basic ETL concepts and how to apply them within an Azure platform.
- Must be familiar with basic Data Flow concepts of Data Landing, Data Cleansing, Data Standardization, Data Quality.
- Hands on experience with Azure Data Factory, and how to transform data using Azure Databricks or Azure SQL stored procedures, integrating Azure Key Vault into Azure Data Factory Solutions, and leveraging Scala or Python programming for ETL/ELT.
- The Data Engineer role spends much of their time analyzing data across our platform.
- Since our databases are generally created as Azure SQL databases, experience using sql is required.
- Experience with SSMS and data modeling tools
- Ability to write complex sql queries, DDL, and DML and stored procedures
