Position:Data Management Analyst

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Will collaborate and partner with constituents across the department and broadly with application teams, report teams, data domain partners and subject matter experts from other governance groups.
  • Deliver metadata and/ or data lineage and flow services to fulfill enterprise data management policy and procedure.
  • Complete the collection of metadata and/or data lineage in alignment with enterprise templates and standards.
  • Document technical specifications and processes to a high level of accuracy.
  • Extrapolate from enterprise data management tools to use available metadata to further enrich business and technical metadata.
  • Validate metadata and data lineage quality through automated tools and standard controls to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Manage project team of stakeholders and SMEs to successfully drive through metadata processes, manage risks and address remediation and action plans.
  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure metadata accuracy and completeness.
  • Balance multiple projects at one time, some of which would require the management of competing priorities.
  • Communicate and present project objective, approach and results to varied audiences in order to gain buy-in, demonstrate progress or synthesize outcomes and observations.
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise metadata processes, tooling and change management plans
  • Design and conduct moderately complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality or integrity issues and to identify and remediate process or control gaps.
  • Adhere to data governance standards and procedures.
  • Identify data quality metrics and execute data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality.
  • Design and monitor data governance, data quality and metadata policies, standards, tools, processes or procedures to ensure data control and remediation for companywide data management functions.
  • Support communications with basic documentation related to requirements, design decisions, issue closure, or remediation updates.
  • Support issue remediation by performing basic to mildly complex data profiling, data or business analysis, and data mapping as part of root cause or impact analysis.
  • Provide support to regulatory analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Recommend plans for the development and implementation of initiatives that assess the quality of new data sources.
  • Work with business and technology partners or subject matter professionals to document or maintain business or technical metadata about systems, business or data elements, or data-related controls.
  • Consult with clients to assess the current state of data quality within area of assigned responsibility.

Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Requires experience in data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis to serve as a foundation to basic concepts and terms.
  • Exposure to enterprise scale data governance tools and processes is also advantageous.
  • 2+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • Experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting.
  • Experience using workflow management and reporting tools (i.e., SharePoint, Jira, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of risk and regulatory reporting.
  • Metadata knowledge
