We curr ently have a Direct Hire remote opportunity for a Data Scientist to support a rapidly growing organization headquartered in Charlotte, NC. As part of the Information Technology team this is an integral role to support their national growth and building standard operating practices across the enterprise.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Use advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to distill insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Communicate the business value and champion analytics as a central decision-making resource.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of our marketing channels, focusing on how we can balance existing donor volume against volume and quality of new donors.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and develop new marketing ideas, leading the implementation of chosen initiatives that integrate company strategy and best practices.
  • Build and analyze marketing tests to understand impact of marketing initiatives and and make sure that we scale the highest return initiatives; measuring our ROI with accuracy and rigor.
  • Examine, interpret, and report results of analytical marketing initiatives and tests to stakeholders in leadership, technology, marketing, and field functions.
  • Gather business requirements from end users and oversee the build of technical solutions from concept to implementation.
  • Leverage a variety of data mining/data analysis methods in order to test and propose effectiveness of difference courses of action.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Support marketing function within operations department to support agile marketing efforts.

Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree +4 years or Master's degree +2 years of relevant experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, industrial engineering, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouse, building data pipelines, and feature engineering
  • Experience using statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets (required: SQL, R or Python; preferred: Spark, SAS, Julia, SPSS)
  • Preferable experience with CRM software (preferably Salesforce). Preferable experience for extracting data from CRM via API.
  • Strong statistics / econometrics background with solid understanding of sampling, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time-series models, hierarchical models, etc.; Ability to interpret models and findings and speak to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using statistical modeling techniques listed above to drive strategic decisions from raw data to actionable insights.
  • Preferable experience in marketing analytics, including experiment design and measurement, A/B testing, segmentation, churn analysis/mitigation, and propensity modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, think-cell, etc.) and distilling data into meaningful graphics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical results to non-technical audience
  • Strategic mindset with strong organizational, analytical, quality detail orientation, negotiation, decision-making, time management, and process improvement skills.
  • Works well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision.
