YOU WILL:
  • Partner with client sponsor in driving data management process best practices for in-flight business projects
  • Helps to identify and escalates risks and issues to DM team leadership
  • Independently drive business term definition, review, and approvals in collaboration with functional team
  • Facilitate workshops to capture Business metadata/glossaries definition
  • Collaborate with business, data/technical teams on data sourcing, catalogues, dictionaries, and lineage mapping exercise
  • Analyze and support data set/data element lineage exercises
  • Elicit and analyze Data Quality Requirements
  • Provide inputs into DQ Monitoring and Issues Resolution
  • Work in tool (i.e.

    Collibra)

    to support Business Metadata management
  • Collaborate with data and functional teams to ensure compliance with policies and standards
  • Capture and verify data requirements in collaboration with data consumers
  • Ensure data adheres to policies (security, retention, etc.); define DQ rules
  • Monitor DQ reporting and define remediation plans for their data issues
  • W2 Data Steward - remote contract opportunity

IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:
  • Understands and can articulate the key components of data governance (stewardship/ownership, metadata management, compliance, data quality, policies, and processes)
  • Has ideally served as a data steward within a data governance function
  • Experience working with Business and technical teams to define business and technical metadata (Building a data catalog/business glossary)
  • Has worked with business and technical teams to triage and resolve data issues
  • Deep understanding of standards, policies and expectations regarding the availability and quality of data
  • Experience eliciting requirements and defining data quality rules
  • Has supported data policy creation, modification, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Collibra for Data Catalog/DQ is requested:
  • Understanding of Collibra meta model
  • Ability to create/manage Communities, Domains, Assets (Business, Data, Compliance, Technology), Relationships and dashboards
  • Understanding of Collibra workflows
  • Understanding of Collibra RACI set up
  • Ability to build templates and upload assets via a spreadsheet interface
  • Ability to generate lineage maps
  • Knowledge of similar tools such as Informatica's IDQ, MDM, AXON, EDC is a plus
  • Hands on experience with data cataloging, data profiling, data quality, business rule definition, data quality rule definition
  • SQL/Database hands-on expeirence
  • Strong consulting and interpersonal skills; able to interface with all levels of the organization and tailor communication appropriately
  • Skilled at work session facilitation, team management and cross-functional collaboration
