Our client, one of the largest banks in the US with wealth management, investment banking, and international business, is seeking a Design System Designer
Location: Charlotte, NC Position Type: Contract Job Summary: This position requires a keen attention to detail and prior experience building pattern libraries for design systems, considering scalability, and establishing guidelines on usage. This individual thrives in a highly collaborative and cross-disciplinary team environment Job Responsibilities: -Create and maintain design libraries used across the team to drive consistency through our enterprise Design System. -You will seek to understand use cases encountered by designers and create reusable components and patterns to meet these needs. -You will apply color, space, and typography with intense attention to detail to consistently raise the bar and reset expectations for employee-facing experiences. -You will be an advocate for users and an ambassador for our brand, creating designs that are familiar, intuitive, and accessible for all. -You will use communication skills to ensure that design rationale is understood. You will introduce creativity while driving consistency, ensuring that styles express our brand and reflect the strategic design direction the organization is working to achieve. -You will work closely with technology and testing to ensure that development outputs adhere to the designs you put forth. -You will work alongside user researchers to apply data-driven insights so that design assets are usable and accessible. -You will participate in design meetings and critiques and provide feedback to teammates. -You will consult with Experience Designers as a Design System SME on how to use and apply Design System assets correctly, considering use guidance and context, with optimized and organized design files. -You will contribute to refinement and execution of governance processes as the Design System grows. -Core deliverables of yours include robust Sketch and Axure libraries that are organized and founded in atomic design principles. Required: -5+ years of design experience -Exceptional interaction and visual design skills -A strong portfolio that shows a commitment to user centered design -Experience applying brand and digital standards and contributing to asset libraries for cross-team use. -Previous Design System and building out design system experience is required -Experience with building out sketch libraries -Experience designing responsive websites, applications, and other digital interfaces, adhering to established spatial guidelines and grid systems. -Expert proficiency with Sketch is required. -Will have to take a design challenge put together by the Hiring Manager -Should have experience designing complex transactional systems into intuitive and valuable products. -Experience Designers need to be excellent analytical and conceptual thinkers that translate user needs, business objectives and technology capabilities into innovative design. Preferred: -Experience designing native mobile applications is a plus. -Additional experience with Axure, InVision DSM, Adobe -Creative Suite and other design and management tools is a plus.Vacancy expired!
