Job Description:

The Senior Business Controls Specialist will be aligned to the GBAM Ops Data Management Governance team with responsibilities for the eDIM process, the Data Management governance meeting routine, ad hoc projects/initiatives and building knowledge of one of the Enterprise Data Management Policies and Standards.

Responsibilities:

eDIM
  • Accountable for the overall governance, monitoring and oversight of the Enterprise Data Incident Management (eDIM) process, ensuring incidents across their lifecycle follow the expectations established by EDSG and GBAM Ops leadership
  • Own all governance processes and templates and evaluate them with peers for best practices that drive operational excellence and improved controls
  • Build/improve/implement governance processes around impacted stakeholder identification, funding, risk acceptance, etc.
  • Be the subject matter on GBAM Ops data risks, involving teammates and stakeholders as needed to identify themes and patterns sharing with leadership for awareness and action
  • Actively participated in EDSG eDIM forum understanding upcoming changes evaluating their impacts upon GBAM Ops to advocate in support or alternate opportunities. Likewise advocate on behalf of GBAM Ops of pain points with processes and/or tools to seek improvements.
  • Drive awareness and education of eDIM ensuring optimal understanding and execution of the process for new and existing users
  • Face off with GT&O stakeholders and Global Banking and Global Markets Data Management teams to discuss eDIMs that require remediation, funding and/or escalation.
  • Develop and utilize metrics and reporting to monitor eDIMs and report out to GBAM Ops leaders in various risk routines (e.g. GBAM Ops KRR, Change, Control and Transformation KRR, GBAM Ops risk executives, etc.)
  • Provide materials and status update in Change, Control and Transformation KRR on active eDIM within the org
  • Maintain all supporting myLearning training, procedures and documentation
  • Support audits and exams related inquiries
  • Data Management Governance routines
  • Own the agenda for the Data Management Governance meeting ensuring routine business is covered and that meaningful topics that educate the GBAM Ops data community of strategic Enterprise, GTO, Global Banking and Global Markets data management programs are discussed.
  • Timely distribute meeting materials and meeting notes
  • In addition to the above the resource may have to support or lead ad hoc initiatives impacting the Data Management team and will develop subject matter knowledge of one the Enterprise Data Management Policies and Standards.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle a variety of tasks; works in a self-directed manner and takes a proactive approach to job responsibilities
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize work, manage complexity and deliver solutions on deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
