IT System Integration Architect (Software & Systems Solutions) to join a dynamic team in supporting the creation of an Architecture Review Board function at a Fortune 500 customer. This Review Board will ensure the customer is working toward a singular vision of business architecture, as well as to reduce duplicate spend on technologies and supporting skillsets. The resource will help lead the team in creating the Review Board Structure and its roles, as well as to define and document the process for Review Board engagement during new technology or application purchases. In addition, this lead role will work with business analysts to engage across the enterprise in performing activities such as tool rationalization and business architecture documentation. As such, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working both with technology disciplines and business processes, including the ability to define best practices and proactively drive the organization towards successful implementation.

Location: Position is remote. Client site is in Charlotte, NC.

Work Arrangement: 1099 Contract Role

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team in creating an Architecture Review Board and its associated structure and process reviewing software solutions, processes, and systems
  • Work with senior leadership to understand existing organizational structure and suggest and document functions and roles to be included in the Review Board
  • Create an Enterprise Communications approach to introduce the Review Board function and its role in enterprise decision making
  • Lead a team and participate in meetings to gather information from across the enterprise to perform a Tools Rationalization to identify overlap
  • Lead a team and participate in meetings to conduct workshops with senior leadership and customer SMEs to gain and understanding of, and document, existing Business Architecture
  • Engage with customer leadership in a consultative role to help explain the benefits of Architecture Review Board functions and drive the organization towards successful implementation
  • Review requirements and provide guidance on the best solution.
  • Provide review for locally or externally hosted applications to make sure a given solution are well designed.
  • Review integration, redundancy, and limitations and capabilities of software solutions.
  • Review and make recommendations on solution design and architecture.
  • Review business process documentation, architecture diagrams, and data flow diagrams.

Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, or equivalent
  • 10+ years demonstratable experience in Business or Enterprise Architecture roles
  • Highly motivated and energetic self-starter with solid organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with an ability to drive the enterprise towards an effective implementation of processes
  • Understanding of Enterprise Strategic and Tactical Requirements with the ability to understand who to collaborate with across disciplines to drive best practice
  • Strong expertise in Business Process Optimization; Lean / Six Sigma Experience is a Plus
  • Familiarity with a wide range of enterprise technologies; comfortable with driving conversations to gather information across disparate technology disciplines
  • Strong proficiency with common Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio, Project, etc)
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, not just the piece you are working on
