Title: Lead Data StewardLocation: Fully RemoteDuration: 6 month Contract-to-HireCompensation: Starting at 60/hrWork Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US Job Description: Join the Enterprise Data Stewardship team. We are helping to rethink how we use data to fulfill the needs of our customers (both internal and external). As a Data Steward, focused on master data operations, you will have an opportunity to drive support operations as pre-defined in the enterprise-wide Stewardship framework for the company. This position requires a significant amount of collaboration across technical and functional teams within the organization. Data Stewardship is a functional role in data management and governance, with responsibility for monitoring data and coordinating data corrections within compass' data environment. The role fosters a sense of security and trust in the Master Data for the Enterprise, as the data stewardship program builds a more data-focused culture and advocates for the proper use of and attention to data. Skillset / Experience:

  • Collect, collate, and triage issues/problems with the data, communicate to impacted individuals, and lead, coordinate, or participate in remediation efforts as appropriate
  • Manage, document, and standardize key business definitions and procedures to ensure standard governance is established and followed
  • Lead team of data stewards to create best practices, cross training activities, and build synergies amongst the different domain areas
  • Hire, onboard, train and develop employees through coaching and leading by example
  • Define, administer, document, and educate on data systems, standards, and work processes
  • Assist in defining and managing data quality standards
  • Enhance work process designs, rule sets, and recommend improvements within assigned domain(s)
  • Conduct and coordinate root cause analysis and provide disposition for defect/bug v. enhancements
  • Document and implement data Governance best practices, lead change management process for data governance, and implement key system and process changes for governance to be successful
  • Fully understand and ensure documentation for Data and Business Logic implemented in systems for Validation, Match/Merge, Survivorship rules
  • Build breadth-based understanding of system components involved in the end-the-end master data flows to triage issues and facilitate resolution
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to resolve data conflicts and process issues
  • Partner with MDM Support and Product teams to remediate and resolve data issues and drive understanding and adoption of MDM best practices
  • Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
Functional / Technical Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in data stewardship management,
  • 3+ years management or lead experience guiding a team with standards and clearly defined deliverables
  • Experience in incident reporting tools like Service Now, BMC Helix, JIRA or Azure Dev Ops
  • Experience with STEP by Stibo, Informatica MDM or other MDM related platforms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business and technology stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Ensure Data and Reporting Quality Assurance reporting is in place and adequate to Stewardship needs either in Tableau or Power BI
  • Data and Business Logic validation
  • SAP knowledge is highly desirable
  • Strong Excel Skills and Analytical capabilities
  • SQL skills nice to have
  • Proven ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams
