As an Oracle Database Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the highest technical expertise for the planning, design, implementation, upgrade, patching, capacity planning, and day to day operations for the Oracle database platforms including technical communications with the vendor. This role will also provide oversight, mentoring, and leadership to less experienced on-shore and off-shore staff. The successful candidate must be comfortable working on multiple dynamic projects simultaneously, collaborating with database architects, application teams, information security teams, and leadership at all levels of the organization.Responsibilities for this role in working on an enterprise team supporting large, highly complex databases include the following:Provide the highest technical expertise for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's Oracle databases, engaging with DBA teams, architecture, Scrum Master, QA, BSA, Product and supporting teams to create efficient and consistent solutions. Assure successful sprint and release planning following agile development methodology. Lead the most complex or critical Oracle initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including database architecture, other Core Engineering teams, design, integration, and/or data modeling. Provide highest level of expertise in complex databases troubleshooting and problem resolution and drive continuous process improvement as preventive actions. Recommend improvements to web application processing issues and design. As the recognized technical expert, consult extensively with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long-range internal and enterprise-level data/ database architecture and management strategies. Design and certify next generation database technologies and provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology. Able to handle multiple/conflicting projects and deadlines; able to work on call and provide 24/7 production support. Demonstrate proficient communication skills with management, application teams, vendors, and systems administrators. Interact with customers (internal / external) to meet process deliverables. Has competency in business language skills. Document and present to the technical and non-technical audience database related information. Consult or develop EDM best practices & SOP and promote these standards across the team. Mentor/Train DBA operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases and/or database related products, lead educational sessions on continuing basis within our EDM communityRequired Qualifications7+ years of database (DB) technologies experience

3+ years of Logical + Physical Data Modeling experience

7+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed technology projects and migrations

Desired QualificationsWorking knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools

Strong technical and task/timeline-oriented skills necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner

Knowledgeable in the programming or scripting language

Experience in leading the complex or critical data/ database management initiatives and projects

Experience with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both

Experience managing one or more industry-standard development tools or scripting languages

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired QualificationsHands on SQL and query optimization

Database object level design optimization

Experience of designing and building complex, resilient database systems

Technical lead experience, including resource management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills for business and technical issues.

Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools

Strong technical and task/timeline-oriented skills necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner

Experience with Jira and Agile delivery

Knowledgeable about programming or scripting language

Experience in leading the complex or critical data/ database management initiatives and projects

Experience with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both

Experience managing one or more industry-standard development tools or scripting languages

Extensive knowledge of Oracle’s Maximum Availability Architecture

Experience supporting database implementations in a regulated banking or financial industry

Experience in management of cloud native technologies

Extensive knowledge of application server connection pooling and session level optimization into the database

Extensive experience in supporting the Systems Development Lifecycle to include:

Code reviews and optimization

Supporting unit, integration, quality, performance, and scalability testing

Understanding how to consult with development teams to construct a valid test harness that may be used to produce dependable results in testing at the database layer

Extensive experience identifying, developing, and executing on action plans to resolve performance issues

Ability to write and maintain high quality documentation and or white papers

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply good interpersonal skills, and perform effectively under time pressure are critical skills required for this position

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a variety of contacts including senior and mid level managers.

Job ExpectationsAbility to travel up to 5% of the time
