  • They are ramping up their email security at NewsCorp and need someone to help start this process.

    Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics:
    • Highly technical and analytical expertise, with a proven deep background (preferred 3-5+ years' IT experience in addition to cybersecurity) in technology design, implementation, and delivery.
    • Knowledge and experience creating and maintaining policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documents
    • Experience configuring email and authentication (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, DNS)
    • Troubleshooting email in large and complex environments
    • Microsoft Defender for Exchange and Office 365 (O365) experience
    • Experience with Proofpoint Email Protection, FireEye email/web protection, Symantec Messaging Gateway/Symantec Email Security .Cloud, Mimecast, etc. (large scale email security providers).
    • Knowledge and experience creating and maintaining policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documents
    • Ability to propose and implement creative solutions to eliminate malicious (e.g. phishing) and unwanted email (e.g. spam, "graymail")
    • Provide complex technical guidance, oversight, and enforcement of security directives, policies, standards, plans, and procedures
    • Cross-functional understanding of email operations, security practices and the user experience
    • Develop project documentation including detailed security plans, security architecture designs, detailed security implementation and deployment plans, test plans, and security-focused operational procedures and training materials
    • Strong knowledge of current cyber security threats and techniques, as well as a dedicated and self-driven desire to research current cyber security products.
    Acts in a lead technical role providing technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, and Engineering Managers for their technology domain environments including but not limited to cloud, middleware, operating systems, applications, Software-as-a-Service, and Platform-as-a-Service products. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs using Agile development practices. Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with their technology domain including, upgrades and deployments. Utilizes advanced technologies and methods to integrate their technology domain with other technology domains, enabling the creation of new or expanded heterogeneous environments. Develops new documentation and departmental technical procedures. Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets. As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems. Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain.
