WHY THIS ROLE IS I MPORTANT:
  • Architecting, designing and delivering the technical aspects of various Nuveen initiatives. This could include designing custom solutions, integrating vendor products into the Nuveen infrastructure and other integration activities
  • Providing innovative solutions to business and IT challenges, evaluating and recommending new technology products and tools, recommending improvements to technology framework, identifying risks in existing technology solutions and recommending solutions to mitigate the risk
  • Driving IT performance to higher levels to improve business user satisfaction
  • Leading developers to develop and deploy technical solutions; mentoring, coaching and managing junior developers to deliver solid technical solutions; creating technical designs; and performing code review with developers
  • Working closely with project managers, business analysts and business partners to deliver high quality technical solutions.
  • Driving creation and adoption of improved team tools and processes

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
  • Bachelor's degree required in Computer Engineering or Equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience leading to successful demonstration of competencies as presented above
  • Solid technology background, including an understanding of technology-governance frameworks, and applications used in financial services
  • Experience with asset management vendor products such as Eagle, Goldensource, CRD
  • Experience with data management products and tools, relational database systems, Oracle and SQL Server Databases.
  • Experience with PL/SQL Queries and development.
  • Experience with scheduling, monitoring and file transfer tools Autosys, Splunk, and Sterling Integrator and Connect Direct.
    • Experience with ETL tools like Data Stage, Reporting tools such as OBIEE and Tableau.
    • Experience with scripting language such as Perl, Shell script and Python
    • Experience with source code repository like Git, TFS and automated code deployments using tools like cloudbees
    • Familiarity with Big Data, Data Lake architecture
  • Experience with working in rapid application development using Agile scrum methodology
  • Broad knowledge of IT processes, including experience in managing throughout the SDLC
  • AWS Certification or Hadoop certification
  • Exceptional communication skills
