- The Sr. Technical Analyst (TA) will sit in the Corporate HQ in Charlotte supporting initiatives designed to help business partners drive value from information. The TA works with the Program Management Office and IT teams to empower the business leaders with concise high-quality information, helping them capitalize on the information to identify and address business opportunities and threats. The TA ensures that the business requirements are correctly captured and translated into technical requirements allowing data solutions to be built. The TA creates actionable business-driven insights and provides consultation on the interpretation of data for the business partners, leveraging the global nature of the central data warehouse. The role requires strong business acumen, technical proficiency, and ability to communicate with senior business leaders
- Work closely with business partners in gathering detailed business requirements, establishing business definitions, and translating business requirements to technical solutions
- Create actionable business-driven data insights for the business partner by participating in regular business meeting and listening for issues that could be addressed with data solution
- Provide deep level analysis, and communicate data nuances and insights to all levels of the company in a clear and concise manner
- Instill best practices and assist users at all levels within the company on how to leverage the Global data capabilities for accurate reporting and analysis
- Leverage expert knowledge of Business Intelligence capabilities and familiarity with business trends in identifying patterns, opportunities, and threats
- Deliver expert advice and education in the usage and interpretation of business data relevant to the business unit
- Determine if data integration is needed, identify data sources, and work with ETL engineers to build a solution to meet business partners’ expectations
- Interact with senior management or executive level customers and provide technical support as needed
- Generate report mock ups based on requirements and coordinate with technical team in finalizing design and receiving sign off
- Support both scheduled and non-recurring information needs of the business users
- Understand data elements in the warehouse at a very detailed grain to support any form of user needs from research to ad-hoc querying to managing large information projects
- Query large datasets and tables comfortably to provide information requested by business users
- Present information in a fashion that is easy to understand with proper documentation for successful user adoption
- Manage detailed Technical Analysis plans on projects to ensure successful completion
- Maintain metadata dictionaries and report definitions
- Create test plans and scenarios and conducts testing to ensure quality and requirements traceability to final deliverable
- Actively identify solutions to enhance the existing Global Data infrastructure processes and technology
- Implement new data analysis and insights discovery methodologies
- Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies
- Advanced hands-on experience in SQL skills (6+ years, including 1+year of cloud data warehouse SQL)
- Advanced hands-on experience in Data Analytics with outstanding ability to perform critical thinking in the area of data analysis (7+ years)
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to speak to large groups with excellent presentation skills
- Strong business acumen, understanding how to translate business requirements to technical data driven reporting. Ability to understand complex business processes and rules to become subject matter expert
- Experience in working with a global multi-national team
- Knowledge in on-prem and cloud-based data warehouse, big data, and data lake concepts
- Advanced knowledge in data warehousing concepts, data structures, nomenclatures, standards, Master Data Management concepts, and data architecture
- Experience with data visualization tools, standards, and techniques to visually summarize data and insights (Cognos, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau etc.)
- Experience with BI Data Modeling concepts such as dimensional model and 3NF
- Data analytics in a manufacturing environment
- Statistical knowledge and intuition ideally utilized in A/B or multivariate testing (or related analytics)
- Data science concepts including Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related field. Equivalent working experience in-lieu of a Bachelor degree would be considered
