Requirements: - Hadoop experience - modeling data in a Hadoop environment
- Oracle
- Experience with looking at data that is coming into a data lake environment, being able to create data models that are tuned for those use cases and implement them
- Experience looking at millions of rows of data and being able to write queries and re-design how the data is laid out
- Experience running tests for performance so that they can prove their theory and run it into production
Description: The Data Modeler will join one of our scrum teams in order to deliver critical features for our software products. In-scope initiatives include analyzing current data sources and flows; create data models in Hadoop (HDFS, HIVE, Impala) as well as in Oracle to support the use-cases being explored; and work with the development teams to ensure that ETL logic being created results in the correct data sets being populated in the model. Analyze data models after data is there in order to tweak, tune, and improve performance of the same, in each platform, in order to ensure that SQL and other logic results in the highest-performing query results and pulls for each use-case. The Data Modeler will play a major role in ensuring that the development teams know how to organize and build data structures that make sense in a data lake as well as relational data model world.EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
