Job Description:

This role support the IMS platforms.

This position will participate in the design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities and is responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. They will assist in the establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and in the coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. They also will serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor.

Responsibilities include:
  • Participating in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include IMS z/OS technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities
  • Serving as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource
  • providing technical knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor
  • Participating in IMS systems on call rotation

Required Job Skills
  • Experienced IMS z/OS systems programmer with a minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge and background in IMS installation and maintenance procedures with an emphasis on SMP/E knowledge
  • Strong experience in IMS SMP/E usermod support
  • Strong experience in the support of IBM and BMC IMS program products
  • Familiar and experienced with IMS problem determination and performance techniques
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 on call environment
  • Ability to influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations

  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Familiarity with the following:
