This role is within the IT Retail and Corporate Systems organization in support of the Global Risk and Security (GR&S) division. You will be a member of a growing team in implementing innovative technology solutions to achieve business outcomes and helping drive digital transformation by engaging with business on technology agendas, which often have enterprise-wide impact.A Senior Engineer in this role will implement and enable a Data Lake within Global Risk and Security. Will work closely with the technical lead and be involved in data ingestion, pipelines and understanding security implications within AWS Cloud.In this role you will:- Be a key technical contributor on the growing Global Risk & Security (GR&S) Technologies Team
- Partner with fellow team members, senior solution architects, IT counterparts, business partners, and leadership on several key agendas including and not limited to:
- Developing a risk data and analytics infrastructure (data lake) to enable Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)'s reporting and analytics initiatives, which includes enabling self-provisioning of risk data analytics for divisional risk teams, supporting TPRM reporting, developing KRIs, conducting value-at-risk analyses and other future analyses requiring integrated data
- Modernizing/automating IT controls testing to support enhanced controls monitoring, improved test coverage and audit confidence, and reduce costs
- Serving as IT product owner for the Vanguard Emergency Notification System (ENS) and contributing to the rollout of ENS to international regions in 2022
- Experience in AWS data lake/data warehouse/business analytics
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD concepts, process, and tools
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT
- Awareness of data Management & governance tools
- Experience in production support
- Hands on programming experience in Python and SQL
- Experience working with relational databases and knowledge of database design or database modeling
- Working knowledge in developing integrations using APIs, such as REST and SOAP, JDBC connections, and web services
- Working knowledge of cloud, AWS development standard methodologies, cloud data stores (S3, Dynamo DB and/or Amazon RDS)
- AWS developer certification
- Strong track record in delivering exceptional outcomes independently
- Ability to work across a broad range of technology opportunities and learn new concepts quickly
- Enthusiasm to understand/learn and apply emerging architecture and technology concepts
- Strong Agile delivery and methodology (Scrum/Kanban/Lean) experience
- Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability in managing ambiguity and changes
