Job Description:

Bank of America is looking for a Platform Security Governance Lead to join our Data Platform Services team.

The candidate will contribute to IT operational governance and risk observation analysis. The candidate will ensure compliance to standards, and drives continuous improvement to operations and governance through socialization and collaboration across technical/engineering teams. The candidate will be responsible to:
  • Conduct assessments of the platform security controls to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls
  • Investigate vulnerability state of components, applications and databases residing within the system boundary
  • Document and develop risk rationale for the associated gaps, ensure appropriate remediation roadmap and provide oversight through remediation
  • Enforces and communicates established security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware
  • Partner with multiple teams responsible for security operations, engineering and architecture for an effective and scalable technical security control environment
  • Demonstrate collaborative working relationships across stakeholders
  • Document, analyze and present information in response to internal compliance and security reviews
  • Early wins will include establishing a comprehensive security governance approach across data organization

Required Skills:
  • Excellent understanding of Information Security concepts and controls around Authentication, Authorization and Accounting etc.
  • 5+ year experience with platform security governance with ability to interact with senior leaders
  • 3-5 year experience in Big Data technologies in platform architecture, system admin or solution development
  • 1+ year Risk Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, including written deliverables, oral presentations, and the ability to facilitate conversations
  • Knowledge of change management processes and responsibilities in a matrix organization
  • Strong skills to uncover and improve process gaps with the ability to identify traceable metrics
  • Identify and develop appropriate controls to ensure process compliance
  • Track the performance of the controls to ensure delivery of desired results
  • Strong skills to technically analyze and uncover potential risk from reported observations
  • Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment
  • Ability to communicate the concepts clearly, identify and justify applicable standards and best practices
  • Player / Coach with ability to wear multiple hats and do what is required to get the job done
  • Ability to operate at the intersection of strategy, operations, internal teams, security - compliance

Desired Skills:
  • 3+ year experience in programming/scripting - Shell, python, Hadoop Eco systems, Spark
  • Working knowledge of multiple technologies, architecture, concepts, best practices, interfaces and integrations
  • Understanding of access governance, data security and data governance concepts
  • Analytical mindset and ability to grasp complex topics.

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivery of defined deliverables which usually requires engagement from multiple teams such as a project or smaller program. Ensures execution and delivery meets the client's expectations in terms of the functionality, quality, timeline and cost.
