The Global Markets Core Operations (GMCO) team, perform end to end trade control, confirmation and settlements services across Global Markets Cash and Derivatives businesses. The teams provide pre- and post-trade services such as trade assistance, support, and control, electronic matching services, pre-settlement and Post - Settlement services, Over the Counter (OTC) derivative confirmation support, Commodities Operations support and the teams also support syndicated traded loans globally.

Within GMCO, the teams provide multiple services such as FICC trade control, Foreign Exchange (FX) electronic matching and settlement, Over the Counter (OTC) derivative confirmation and settlement, and commodities operations. Business Unit overview:Global FX is an exciting and thriving area within the Middle Office space that covers all aspects of the FX business. The business itself is a key market player transacting in Spot, Forward, NDF (Non Deliverable Forwards), EFX (eTrading) and FXOptions.

The GFX Middle Office is responsible for driving market wide projects which have captured the focus of senior management across both the Middle Office and Front Office and offers an excellent opportunity to develop a wide range of technical and soft skills while raising your profile across all areas of the business.

Due to the nature of the Foreign Exchange business (high volume of transactions, covering G10 and Emerging Market Currencies, multiple work streams and complex systems architecture) there is consistent interaction with Trading, Sales, Technology, Settlements and Operations throughout the day. The GFX Middle Office team is a key member of BAML's FX business and how it functions on a daily basis making the area a fast paced and vibrant space to operate in.

Responsibilities:

• Validation of trade booking to downstream systems• Provide support to trading desks• Regular reporting to senior management highlighting KPI's and KRI's• Event escalation in line with risk and control guidelines.• Partner with APAC and EMEA Trade Control leads to ensure global harmonisation• Daily interaction with key partners within the business• Driving process improvement initiatives and coordinating aspects of system testing• Oversight of controls around trade lifecycle events such as expires and fixings• Engagement in industry initiatives such as clearing and compressions• Resolve Risk and P&L issues

Requirements:

• Detail oriented• Good controls mind set• Experience working to tight deadlines• Highly skilled in Excel (including data analysis, presentation, formulae and pivot tables)• Ability to challenge and improve existing processes• VBA experience would be an advantage• Good communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of seniority• Excellent organizational skills are required with the ability to prioritise daily workload whilst working accurately in a high-energy environment• Keen analytical skills including data reconciliation and interpretation• 2 + years of experience in middle office or back office.• Logical approach to problem solving - taking ownership and offering practical solutions• Understanding of operational risk and the full lifecycle of a trade from execution to settlement• Strives to bring new thoughts and ideas to teams in order to drive innovation and unique solutions• Excels in working among diverse viewpoints to determine the best path forward• Experience in connecting with a diverse set of clients to understand future business needs - is a continuous learner• Commitment to challenging the status quo and promoting positive change.• Participate in and drive collaborative efforts to advance tools, technology, and ways of working to better serve an evolving client base• Believes in value of diversity so we can reflect, connect and meet the diverse needs of our clients and employees around the world
