Detailed job description: (Required) Experienced SDLC developer needed for participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle. • In depth understanding of Java, J2EE, Spring Framework 5+, Spring Boot 5+, Hibernate 5+, JQuery, CSS, HTML5, Javascript. Eclipse IDE, SQL, Thymeleaf • Can write effective APIs. • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency. • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software. • Create security and data protection settings. • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design. • Write technical documentation. • Strong technical and functional knowledge of ESRI and GE Smallworld software would be a plus. • Familiarity Work Management Software integration with GIS is a plus. • Apigee API Management is a plus. • Building Rest API's experience is a plus. • GitHub, Bitbucket version control is plus.

Incumbent would be asked to mentor others approximately 5% for support turnover and provide troubleshooting support. Analyzes and classifies complex change request and identifies and documents possible enhancements. Participates in developing application scope and objectives and preparing functional and/or technical specifications.

Works with the project lead and project team to plan, estimate, schedule and implement development project tasks and then would need to be able work independently on task with minimal amount of supervision.

Develops relationships with the business to better understand business requirements. Demonstrate knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Experience working in an Agile environment with Jira or other agile work management tools. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills; must be proactive and take initiative. Strong business acumen, excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, ability to support existing systems, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Requires BA/BS degree or technical institute training; 5+ years' experience on one platform, multi-database, multi-language or multi-business application, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Workers at this level solve more complex problems, in application areas of specialization, with general supervision. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. Designs, writes, develops and implements innovative and advanced mobile applications.

Typical Functions:
  • Maintains and enhances existing applications. Troubleshoots and debugs applications, including user and system interface functionality. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and clients to define, design and deliver enhancements, new applications, and technical solutions that meet the needs of the company, its clients, and the end users.
  • Configures a design that satisfies business requirements and desired specifications. Researches, evaluates and implements new technology to optimize application efficiency and usability. Maintains records to document system and programming development and revisions.
  • Designs small modifications for solutions based on defined requirements. Programs in required programming languages, database SQL, report writing, ETL, Assists with testing and migrating code through test regions. Ensures adherence to appropriate design, coding and source control standards.
  • Leads specific design and code walk-thru as a presenter or reviewer. Processes Change Requests and Quality Assurance (QA) documentation for project implementations and support changes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 5 years of related business experience.
  • Work experience in addition to degree: 1-5 years of related Information Technology experience.
  • Job-specific knowledge, skills or abilities: Two years coding/programming, trouble-shooting, problem-solving, logical design, SQL coding, Business Requirements analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Taking ownership of a resource such as an application, initiative or measure.
  • Experience with schema/database design, vendor management, root cause analysis, Enterprise Standards and Process Adherence
