DevOps Engineer

Seeking an up-and-coming associate-midlevel devops engineer with a software development background to join a growing "started-up" team in the predictive analytics SaaS space for commerce! Here you will work with tools like AWS, Terraform, Datadog, and Cypress This DevOps Engineer role is a direct-hire opportunity with benefits and a target salary of $100,000 - $110,000, + bonus potential.

The company HQ is in Durham, but a candidate can work remotely from any of the following states: NC, IL, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, RI, FL, OH . No relocation assistance, sponsorship, or C2C arrangements are available.

Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer:

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes. Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, and monitoring. Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions.
  • Build and maintain automation tools for software deployments, testing, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Design and implement strategies around capacity planning, automated rollback procedures, and monitoring to improve CI/CD pipeline.
  • Analyze current technology utilized by the company and develop steps & processes to improve and expand upon them.

Qualifications

of the DevOps Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
  • 1-3+ years' relevant experience in a production environment , preferably within a SaaS company.
  • Knowledge of deployment management tools such as Jenkins, and cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with Docker and container management tools such as ECS.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with network infrastructure, databases, and security protocols.
  • Experience with programming and scripting with languages like Python, Bash, JavaScript, etc. ; preference will be given to candidates with software development backgrounds
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • AWS certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to clearly present ideas, issues, and solutions , and work well with a team in a small "started-up" environment.
