- Benefits Coordinator serving as the liaison between the c ompany and b enefit p roviders.
- Develop a benefits ' strategy with the broker and select a package of benefits that serves the c ompany's strategic needs and their employees.
- Conduct Open Enrollment Meetings for employees.
- Prepare Employee Benefit and 401(k) enrollment packets for new employees .
- Enroll employees with benefit carriers and m aintain benefit enrollment records.
- Educate managers on the benefits available and c ounsel employees on use of benefits as needed.
- Recruit ment as well as administration of on-line recruit ment .
- Solicit background reports on driver's licenses and criminal histories as well as t rack expiration of licenses, certifications , and work authorizations.
- Conduct e mployee development and documentation while initiating / tracking a development action plan for all employees .
- E-verify and I-9 administration , EEOC documentation , FMLA Administration , and Worker's Compensation Administration .
- Track Accident Cases (beyond the initial treatment and investigation) .
- Communicate with the medical provider to coordinate integration of the treatment plan with the ' Light Duty Stay at Work ' and ' Return to Work ' programs .
- Coordinate the follow-up treatment and recovery with the medical providers and branch management team .
- Design and document individual light duty return-to-work plans.
- Coordinate efforts with the medical providers and the claims adjuster to close cases.
- Respond to external inquiries for information on current and former employees:
- Administer the attendance and payroll systems in the absence of the HR Manager.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field with 3 - 5 y ears of work experience in Benefits Administration.
- Maintenance of a valid in-state driver's license with a good driving record.
- Working knowledge of current state and federal labor laws.
- PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of benefit plans and the laws that govern them.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and e xperience with payroll systems preferred
- Outgoing personality and enjoy working with people.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills .
- Ability to make presentations to large or small groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint .
- TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 overnight trips per year to other branches or conferences.
