Location: Durham, NC (Initially remote till pandemic)

MUST HAVE: Looking for a Java developer with Support experience, Maintenance, small enhancements, Database query knowledge, IT troubleshooting, AWS awareness, DevOps automation skills

Interview: This associate will need to go through hirevue as the first screening. Will then have two additional interviews- 30 minutes with HM and then 90 minutes with team.

Overview: This associate will not be working on a specific project- They will be added to a development support team. They are moving the team to do site reliability- The development will be tools for them to monitor the environment, correlate and display alerts, Batch flow Right now the candidates are doing client facing small enhancements in the old systems but the future will be development tools used by the team. These associate will be on call once every 4-5 weeks. They will not need to be on call overnight though- It is mostly until 11pm EST.

The Team:· Client Core Brokerage Technology Domain is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Production Excellence squad and work with the Tax, Asset Servicing and Reference Data development squads in providing superior stability and performance as we adapt to change. The Tax, Asset Servicing and Reference Data Tribe is part of the Core Brokerage Platform Domain (formerly the Operations Service Group - Technology organization). The tribe’s mission is to embrace servant leadership and an agile operating model to sustain a critical and complex platform of brokerage capabilities while also developing and seamlessly migrating its customers to a new generation platform utilizing serverless cloud technology. Aligning to the Core Brokerage Platform mission, the new generation will enable Investors, advisors, and broker-dealers to personalize solutions for servicing assets, maintaining and accessing security and pricing data, and accessing tax financial management tools, all while maintaining regulatory compliance.· The PE Team will support the Tribe by driving a culture of stability, resiliency & performance as a priority on equal footing with functionality through a proactive production excellence discipline leading to zero customer impacting incidents due to application scalability issues. The Production Excellence Chapter will drive a proactive end to end approach across Core Brokerage toward providing superior stability and performance as we adapt to change.

The Expertise You Have:· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Equivalent Experience.· Proven expertise and experience in crafting sophisticated network of microservices which can handle high TPS traffic with low latency. This experience is essential as we embark on implementing transaction processing microservices, which can process millions of transactions daily, in a most efficient manner.· Experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of modern programming languages and frameworks. 5+ years of experience working with Java, Oracle, Kubernetes, Rancher (or Similar).· Passion for technology and can navigate your way across sophisticated and rapidly changing landscapes by staying on top of the latest trends and thrive by sharing knowledge.· Creator, a doer, and a disruptor who will help us seek problems and meet customer needs. You’ll be helping us build things, taking an idea, and crafting rapid prototypes and learn from real-time feedback.· You care about cycle time and use CI/CD practices, tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers while minimizing risk.· Have strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in substantial discussions with partners across business roles and skillsets.

The Skills You Bring:· Hands on experience in Java, Spring, API, messaging frameworks, container-based development (Docker/Kubernetes), Hibernate ORM/JDBC/Connection Pooling and EDA solutions such as Kafka/ MQ/ AWS SNS· Familiarity working with OAuth 2.0 framework and scopes· Experience in implementing Micro services Architecture & building / deploying highly automated, scalable and maintainable infrastructure.· Proven experience in crafting and developing apps with high efficiency and low latency utilizing load balancing caching, threading etc.· Proven experience working with cloud computing strategies and architecture (AWS fargate, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda)· Knowledge on CD process and tools, testing frameworks and practices (preferably GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, Stash, JFrog)
