Hilco Transport is leading the way in Transportation. We provide multiple hauling services for a variety of products including Waste, Liquid, Aggregate, and Petroleum.
Overview: Mechanic will be responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance
Day to day maintenance repairs on Tractors, Trailers, Road Tractor.
Inspect, trouble shoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepares safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
Requirements:
Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
Computer skills as required.
Must have own tools.
Completed paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Physical activities include: walking, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, etc.
Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL- A or B is not required but is a “plus.”
5 years truck and/or trailer mechanic experience.
3 + years Aluminum & Steel welding experience.
