Type: PermanentBusiness Unit: P&S – Vegetable Seed Enhancement Technology Location: NL-Enkhuizen  The Vegetable Seed Enhancement Team (VSET) is closely connected to the vegetable seeds R&D, production and processing plants and services all Syngenta vegetable sites globally. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Data Scientist to join us and be a member of a multidisciplinary team embedded with a variety of stakeholders to support the global vegetable seeds business. You will focus on designing and implementing imaging technologies, algorithms, and building artificial intelligence systems to automate measurements and understanding of seeds and plants. Key responsibilities will include: Translating the imaging and AI systems to commercial scales that could be used across vegetable seed processing plants. Designing and implementing automated seed processing systems using image-based methods and artificial intelligence. Applying AI and machine learning techniques to study and analyse seed phenotypes and seedling characteristics. Processing and interpreting large datasets to identify trends in seed quality and translating the findings to practical solutions to improve seed quality. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to drive innovation in seed science and practical solutions beneficial to the global Syngenta VEG business.
