Responsible for maintaining quality assurance and quality control for all inbound liquid waste streams and all outbound fuel sales. This includes monitoring sample protocol and executing all documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, organized and efficient oil lab
Maintain laboratory supplies to ensure efficiency
Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps
Analyze multiple samples accurately within a short duration of time
Handle petroleum based products safely
Maintain associated documents pertaining to samples for both inbound and outbound liquid waste streams.
Prepare fuel delivery tickets with pertinent analysis information.
Follow all laboratory SOP’s, perform daily testing on all waste streams including, but not limited to, water percentage; API gravity; flash point; total halogens; total metals; PCB’s; and various bench analyses.
Accurately enter all data results into the laboratory information system.
Prepare weekly finished product samples for analysis by outside certified lab. This includes drawing sample, splitting sample, and performing specified tests internally, prepare sample for shipment, and initiate chain of custody forms.
Manage and maintain all retain samples for specified time periods.
Support refinery operators by performing specific tests on both unprocessed and processed oil running in the refinery
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills, Experience, and/or Education Required:
High school degree or equivalent required, college degree preferred
Previous lab, sampling or testing methods a plus
Proficiency at performing mathematical calculations.
Familiarity with PC’s and MS Office software applications.
Attention to detail required
Exceptional organizational skills
Good communication skills, oral and written
Ability to make occasional trips to terminal operations in order to retrieve samples
Ability to work well both within team environment and independently
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
