North Carolina, Greensboro 00000 Greensboro USA

Hot rod auto fabrication mechanic technician welding

USCT Motorsports in Graham NC has openings for experienced automotive craftsman. Superb mechanical ability, sheet metal fabrication, diagnosis, custom chassis, body, engine, electrical and interior work. We have several large SEMA quality builds underway and scheduled for 2020, we need high quality automotive engineers/technicians to assist us in completing these builds.

We manufacture a product line of chassis stiffening products for classic muscle cars of the 60s and 70s and a large variety of automotive restoration and customization tools. We install our products on customer cars and also perform a large variety of customization, from simple roll-cages and race car builds to full customs / SEMA show cars. Engine swaps, disc brake upgrades and classic hot rods are all on the menu in our shop. EFI conversions, engine/transmission rebuilds, high performance tuning.

Candidates are expected to have their own extensive set of tools, be self-starters, have a great work ethic, play well on the team and support the other crafts folks. We encourage and support additional learning and value ASE certifications and independent learning / seminars such as Ron Fournier and Wray Schelin classes.

Understanding carburetors and distributor ignitions is as important as Fuel injection and coil packs. Classic 4-speed knowledge along with computer controlled 8-speed servo drive automatics. Being a serious automotive enthusiast with hands-on knowledge and expertise is an absolute must for these positions. Be familiar with Plasma cutters, MIG, TIG, English wheel, Planishing hammer, box & pan brake. We also have large machine tools (laser cutter and 6 axis CNC press brake) that assist the hot rod shop metal fabrication.

Be comfortable using technology to capture pictures/videos of work performed and describe it in writing. Be accurate, timely, organized and precise in detailing tear downs and re-assembly projects. We drug test and background test and require honesty in the workplace.

Graham NC is located along I-40 in central NC in Alamance county. Downtown Graham is a charming, classic southern town and this is a fantastic place to live and work. We are 15 miles from the local dragstrip and under 1 hour away from VIR.

Bring a welding helmet and some sample fabrication parts / auto build pictures to the interview, we enjoy seeing the work you have done in the past.

In addition to several Senior Hot Rod technician openings we have two paid internships available in the hot rod shop. Interns are paid terrible wages, do all the clean-up and no-glory work and have an opportunity to learn some amazing skills from great automotive builders. We support folks in local colleges and will work around your schedule, part time is fine for interns in school (we currently have two interns from Alamance Community College here 20-30 hours a week each).
