Independent contractor position delivering lost luggage. A mid sized car, hatchback, van, or small SUV with gas mileage at least 25 mpg recommended. Golf clubs and other large items must fit in the vehicle. Must be able to lift and carry luggage up to 80 lbs or more.
First of all, we are looking for someone who prefers to be a delivery driver at night.
Second of all, if you know anything about doing a delivery job, you would know that there are many challenges. This delivery position is different from any other delivery job. There are many variables and challenges that you must overcome. Driving at night has many challenges in itself. This night position can be very difficult.
This position begins at 7:30 pm and driving throughout the night. How long you will drive will depend on how many deliveries you have and where they are going. It is very random. It is common to drive hours away. Most of the time you should be done before 1am but there is no guarantee.
Deliveries vary per day and cover a wide range around the airport. Pay is per delivery. Weekly pay. Must be flexible.
This job is for someone who loves to work at night and likes to have alot of freedom and rarely has to speak to the supervisor.
Since the deliveries are random, there is no guarantee how much money you would make. On a good week, you could possibly make over $1,000. On a slow week you may not even make $200. It is random and I can not promise how much money you would make.
I have been doing this for around 5 years and others have been driving full time and this is their primary job. So, as a whole, this job has been well worth it for me and others long term.
Weather related events, or system issues with the airlines throughout the country can cause many deliveries to be available.
Please provide make, model, and year of vehicle. Unfortunately vehicles with less than 25 mpg won't be ideal for this job.
Please do not reply to this post if:
- Vehicle gets below 20 mpg. (25 and up mpg preferred)
- Vehicle is not in good enough condition to drive 3,000 miles a month
- You do not really like to work at night
- You do not really like to do delivery jobs
- You have a primary job
- You have something else where you have to regularly be early in the morning
- You cannot adapt to last minute changes
- You are too nervous to drive at night
- You do not want to deal with angry people at the destinations
- You cannot meet unexpected challenges and work through them regularly
- You are not flexible (must be able to be called in on an off day as the nature of this business is very random)
- You want easy money all the time
- You cannot drive more than 8 hours every day when we have a rush
- You take too long or never respond when the manager tries to contact you
- You are not flexible and will not come in on off days
- You do not want to keep the manager notified on issues regarding availability
This is listed as full time but there is no guarantee how many hours a week you would work. It could be less than 40 hours or alot more. There are too many factors that determine how many hours you would work.
