Hello, Lab Technician III Monroe, NC, Charlotte Area We are hiring at Experis, a Lab Tech III. The Impact you'll make in this role as an Embedded Systems Lab Technician, for the SCBA/Fire Solutions Product Development Department located in Monroe, NC you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Assisting in laboratory experiments through testing and evaluation of new electronic circuits and embedded systems products based on research. May assist in the development and modification of test methods and apparatus for new products and processes
  • Performing statistical data analysis, interpretation, and documentation of experimental results in technical notebooks (physical and electronic). May test or make visual observations on product samples from competitors. Communicates test results to the appropriate requester
  • Assisting in assuring availability of raw materials, electronic components, and test equipment by maintaining and ordering needed supplies and equipment.

    Your Skills and Expertise to set you up for success in this role from day one, requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • 6 to 18 months of post-high school formal training (completed and verified prior to start) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution
  • 2 (two) years of experience supporting one or more of the following areas: electrical circuit design and testing, embedded hardware and firmware design, and/or electrical system applications in a private, public, government or military environment.

    Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
  • Experience supporting the design and development of embedded electronic systems for commercial, Industrial, and/or military products
  • Technical experience in the following areas: Analog, RF, and digital circuits, battery powered embedded systems, high reliability/robust environments
  • Experience in testing complex embedded products, including electro-mechanical systems, wired and wireless communications (e.g. BLE, WiFi, ZigBee), and mobile/Windows applications
  • Experience with version control tools (git, svn, other)
  • Experience with tracking tools (JIRA, TFS, other)
  • Experience with LabView, scripting languages (Python), Wired/Wireless test harnesses, etc.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and engage with people quickly Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position and provides best practicing sharing within work group. Worker performs chemical, biological, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results. Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required. Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required. Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.
