Job Title: Network Engineer 5

Location: Raleigh, NC

Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:

Looking for Network subject matter expert (SME) working on a cross-functional / cross-disciplinary team, along with Compute, Database, Storage and Web SMEs

Focus primarily on the Data Analytical aspects of Networks including protocol analysis, detailed application profiling, along with packet and protocol analysis.

Building detailed network topology maps, traffic flow analysis diagrams, leveraging data analysis to identify hot spots and potential problems areas. Documenting detailed findings and recommendations to be implemented by Application Support and/or Operational line teams

This position is not for network support engineer, we are looking for Network subject matter expert (SME) working on a cross-functional / cross-disciplinary team, along with Compute, Database, Storage and Web SMEs Focus primarily on the Data Analytical aspects of Networks including protocol analysis, detailed application profiling, along with packet and protocol analysis using tools like Wireshark, ExtraHop etc.

The resource will help with the rollout of ExtraHop and Gigamon appliances (tool to enhance security and monitoring solutions), connect to Cisco ACI network, migrate the data feed, perform application dashboards and user migration to new platform and decommission end of life (EoL) appliances

Requirement:

Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals and advanced networking concepts
Detailed understanding of Network hardware (Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ACI, F5, Palo Alto, Juniper) architectures, topologies, and protocols (routing & routed)
Rock solid understanding of the TCP/IP stack with Multicast/unicast and financial exchange connectivity
In-depth knowledge of Network analysis tools: ExtraHop, Gigamon, Wireshark
Good understanding of performance optimization, high performance computing and low-latency technologies
Broad knowledge of Compute Operating Systems fundamentals (Windows and Linux)
Scripting skills for data mining, extract, transform & load using Python, Perl, shell and/or JavaScript is a plus
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science with Mathematics, Statistics and/or Data Science
