Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Data Modeler/Analyst/Scientist for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Morrisville, NC. Responsibilities :
- Data & Artificial Intelligence Solutions (DAIS) is home to the firm's Big Data Platform, to AI/ML Governance, and to the Machine Intelligence & Accelerated Computing (MIAC) group.
- Along with teams in Machine Learning and Data Science, the Semantic Technology team is part of MIAC. We are a small team offering ontology and semantic application services to clients and projects across the bank.
- Our current Semantic Technology specialists are US-based; MIAC and DAIS are distributed across locations in the US, Switzerland, Poland, India, and the UK. Our clients and partners may be in similar locations or elsewhere.
- Participate in all stages of the ontology lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and management
- Apply ontologies and semantics-based tools to represent, transform, and integrate data, virtually or physically.
- Work with internal clients and partners to understand their business domains, data models, and requirements, and will contribute to the design and development of semantic models, knowledge graphs, and semantics-enabled solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teammates, clients, and other technology teams (e.g., in areas such as Machine Learning and Big Data).
- Participate in advising and mentoring of client teams, helping them grow their ability to develop and maintain ontologies and semantic solutions
- A formal background information science, cognitive science, philosophy, computer science, mathematics, or a closely related field, or significant, demonstrated experience learning and applying knowledge from such fields; demonstrated understanding of ontology foundations such as formal logic, set theory, and conceptual analysis
- Hands-on, professional experience developing and using ontologies
- Fluency with W3C Semantic Web & Linked Data standards such as RDF, SPARQL, OWL, and SKOS
- Demonstrated experience working with a variety of SMEs and stakeholders; ability to elicit domain knowledge and requirements from a non-technical audience
- Strong ability to engage with and understand new domains, concepts, terminology, and communities
- Ability to function both independently and collaboratively, within multidisciplinary, global teams
- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in spoken and written English
- Experience using ontologies to represent, transform, and/or integrate data, virtually or physically
- Experience with data access and transformation using declarative mappings, e.g., using techniques from Ontology-Based Data Access (OBDA) or Virtual Knowledge Graphs
- Experience with RDF validation and testing languages (such as SHACL), tools, and techniques
- Experience applying ontologies to metadata, data management, discovery, and/or governance
- Experience with collaborative ontology development and management
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Programming experience in Python or Java is a plus
- Familiarity with techniques for combining semantic technologies with others such as Machine Learning or NLP is a plus
- Experience with Hadoop, document, and/or property graph databases and associated technologies is a plus.
- Experience with graph and data visualization tools is a plus.
