Senior Technical Support Engineer Seeking an experienced technical support specialist for great long term opportunity with great company. Will be part of a small team providing a broad range of IT support including general troubleshooting, networking, system administration, desktop support, migration projects, automation and more. Position will be mainly level 1 and 2 help desk (60%), network support (10%), server administration (10%), data center support (10%) and rollouts (10%). RESPONSIBILITIES:- Setup, administer, support and maintain the R&D facilities computer systems, including servers, storage, networking, workstations, notebooks, related software and record keeping of activities to ensure data safety, system security and system stability.
- Responsible for System Design and system implementation of all hardware requests
- Data backup and restore for infrastructure equipment or as requested
- Maintain multiple domains and as many testing domains as needed.
- Purchasing of all hardware, software, peripherals and components and needed.
- Provide all 3 levels of Helpdesk support for all of R&D across all sites under our control
- Anti-Virus management and implementation
- Server room administration: Ensure electrical, cooling, backup power, racks, networking are monitored and maintained, work with facilities and/or vendors as needed.
- Software licensing including MSDN account maintenance
- Ensure all networking, cabling, ports, wireless, VLAN and VPN are functioning and work with applicable resources to resolve
- Maintain Virtual environments (vCenter, ESXi)
- Multi-boot drive creation and maintenance
- Lab equipment: purchases, setup and maintenance included high res monitors
- Asset tracking of all IT equipment
- 4+ years of experience in providing overall technical support
- 3+ years of experience in Windows System administration, including MS Active Directory
- 2+ years of experience with VMWare & VCenter
- 1+ years of experience in network support including switches, racks, power backups
- 1 year of experience with scripting language (preferably PowerShell)
- 1 year of experience with SCCM
- Bachelors Degree
- Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- ITIL Certification
- Experience in iSupport is a plus.
