Overview

This position leads the development and support of the Bank's network infrastructure. Serves as a network architect and a resource for project planning and problem resolution. Presents technical alternatives and solutions to management that are reliable, scalable, secure and cost-effective. Leads technical teams on assigned projects and collaborates effectively across the organization. Provides consultative guidance to associates, management, and business units through expertise in multiple technologies. Responsibilities

  • Consultation - Provides consultative direction and technical advice relating to the Bank's network infrastructure, addressing reliability, availability, scalability, security, and recovery. Supports all areas of Technology and Operations
  • Analysis - Evaluates the performance of existing and proposed system components in delivering solutions for technology, operations, and business needs. Analyzes hardware platforms, operating systems, applications, and network components. Provides key insight into new system software, hardware, and network integration
  • Technical Support - Implements, upgrades, and supports network hardware and software. Coordinates new technologies spanning hardware platforms and different operating systems that require network communication. Coordinates network communication and data integration methods for new technologies. Performs planning and documentation throughout support activities. Resolves complex technical problems and automates tasks for improved efficiencies
  • Technical Expertise - Maintains a strong knowledge base in order to effectively consult and direct others on technical matters. Communicates effective and clear technical information across platforms

Principle Accountabilities:

60% - Design, consulting and project support 20% - Vision, roadmaps and strategy 10% - Implementation, testing and build out 10% - Tier 4 support escalation Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in design and support of complex network solutions OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in design and support of complex network solutions.

Skill(s): Knowledge of network hardware, software, and systems, knowledge of enterprise network concepts and systems support procedures, ability to articulate solutions and demonstrate business value, technical skills in areas such as network support, automation, advanced debugging techniques, and disaster recovery.

Required
      • Expert knowledge and experience with Cisco edge and datacenter Layer 2/3 devices
      • Advanced network design and support experience
      • Advanced routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF, OTV)
      • Disaster recovery design / backup data center support

Preferred
      • Load Balancing
      • Enterprise Wireless
      • IPAM with DNS/DHCP (Infoblox or equivalent)
      • Network automation or SDN
      • Packet aggregation (Gigamon)
      • Network Access Control
