We have a fantastic opportunity for a great client here in Raleigh, NC. Our client is in the healthcare industry and is looking for a Sr Manager to support internal Infrastructure.   • Ensure the stable operation of our Windows server infrastructure including DNS, DHCP, file and print services, clustering, DFS, GPOs, Certificate Management, Remote Desktop Services, and licensing. The candidate must have Active Directory enterprise-level support experience and a very strong general Microsoft background on Windows Server 2012+
  • Management of Microsoft 365 products and product licenses. Maintenance and support of Azure AD is required and familiarity with Azure/AWS is a plus
  • Maintain our highly virtualized environment. Manage VMware ESXi and/or VMware View. Must be well versed in HA, DRS, VMotion, resource pools, snapshots, and all VMware best practices. Strong virtualization skills are a must!
  • Oversight and management of all national server equipment across multiple data centers and administrative offices and centers
  • Provision server storage following industry best practices and monitor storage performance
  • Provide functional leadership and management to the national server support staff. Including day-to-day management, annual reviews, and other aspects of leadership. Improve team member effectiveness by identifying and executing specific training plans for personal growth and development. Experience leading a team of primarily remote team members is preferred
  • Provide a "working manager" role to contribute to the technical success of the team. Act as level 3 support for issues that cannot be resolved by other support tiers
  • Work closely with level 2 support to transition non value-add activities to their team allowing level 3 engineers to focus on project responsibilities
  • Create a best practices runbook for new partner locations, acquisitions, relocations and/or expansions
  • Create and execute roadmaps outlining the technology strategy and the investments in infrastructure to ensure our systems are meeting established service level agreements
  • Contribute to the development, ongoing maintenance, and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan
  • Monitor system performance, provide capacity planning, automate processes, perform refreshes/upgrades, and provide operational and technical support for server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure areas
  • Develop and maintain documentation including SOPs, server build documentation, configuration standards, and general infrastructure architecture
  • Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals
  • Provide capacity, performance, uptime, and security reporting as requested. Implement industry best practices in terms of availability planning, scalability, and change management
  • Communicate to business clients, technical teams and management in a consistent manner making complex technical issues and solutions clear, simple, and understandable
  • Research new technologies that deliver business value and operational return
  • Leverage the use of workflow ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment
Qualifications: Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • General Microsoft, Microsoft 365, VMware, Cisco, or related information technology certifications are preferred
Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience in server, storage, and general Microsoft product support in a 500+ server environment
  • Proven track record of project delivery including the coordination and management of projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Previous experience working at an organization focused on M&A efforts a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
