In the Cognitive Support Platform team we are breaking new ground in how we apply artificial intelligence technologies to improve the Client Technical Support experience and make our clients wildly successful.This position can be in Raleigh, NC or Austin, TX. The person in this role will be responsible for leveraging our data and using it to design machine learning models which will impact Support Transformation across IBM.The candidate will design and implement software around machine learning, business intelligence, and predictive analytics. The candidate will work as part of the Cognitive Support Platform team to understand our data needs and data availability and to design innovative solutions leveraging that data. The role will include working with architects, engineers, and end users to investigate data sources and create new machine learning models which will be used to generate cognitive-based actions, responses, and recommendations to provide the best possible technical support for our clients.A day in the life at IBM :

Throughout the day, you will collaborate with your teammates and interact with our product owners – all while being based out of our RTP, NC or Austin, TX office.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

A minimum of 5 years experience in a Data Scientist role with exposure to the full AI lifecycle from dataset prep to post-production error-analysis on a predictive model

Demonstrated experience in python, flask, R, scikit-learn, pandas, Jupyter notebooks, Watson Studio, and Watson Machine Learning as well as experience in statistical analysis (precision, recall, accuracy, f-score)

Exposure to algorithms such as linear regression, random forest, and support vector machines as well as exposure to frameworks like keras or tensorflow

Strong analytical skills

Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills

Demonstrated communication skills in a customer facing environment

A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and training machine learning models

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Demonstrated work experience leading the development of enterprise software solutions
