We are looking for an energetic, creative Global Market Development Manager, who can bring their commercial and campaign development and execution experience to a role responsible for developing and executing our clinical marketing plans and launch and support new molecular diagnostics point of care products in the clinical market.The Global Market Development Manager is a member of the Global Market Development Team within the Rapid Diagnostics Solutions business (RDS) within the Genetics Sciences Group (GSG) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The successful candidate will drive the development and execution of marketing programs using a multi-channel go-to-market strategy for the Rapid Diagnostics Solutions business. The successful candidate should have a combination of technical and marketing skills/knowledge and as an individual who can build strong working relationships with a diverse set of departments across the organization, they will coordinate closely with multiple functional teams (e.g. Product Management, Regional Market Development, Services, Support, Training, eBusiness, etc) and outside vendors to execute integrated marketing programs designed to help achieve global sales, marketing, and revenue goals.This dynamic team player will also help manage sales and distributor training content and curriculum across the entire point-of-care (POC) molecular diagnostics product line. The successful candidate will be a vital member supporting the commercial team through sales enablement and contribute to the overall growth of the Rapid Diagnostics business and point of care molecular diagnostics portfolio globally.Responsibilities:Develop strategic, multi-channel integrated marketing plans for Rapid Diagnostics Solutions POC molecular diagnostics portfolio, including analysis of customer segments, key customer accounts, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, and staging and pacing of marketing tactical programs
Create engaging customer-facing content including videos, webinars, application notes, white papers, and technical articles to gain awareness and establish thought leadership
Nurture customers with relevant content served through multiple digital channels that align with the customer journeys
Develop and present salesforce training and technical customer education material in collaboration with product management, R&D, and global commercial teams
Design dynamic training curriculum across all related product portfolios, applications, verticals, and manage content in training libraries
Work across geographies to build and execute engaging training curriculum
Utilize KOL outreach, VOC, VOS, and qualitative/quantitative market research to gain better understanding of customer needs and competitive landscape in order to develop proper value proposition and messaging
Ensure creative marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines
Maintain campaign/program KPI and metrics dashboards to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities; report on these metrics regularly and adjust tactics to improve performance
This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel and will require direct customer communication, public presentations/trade shows, and a team-focused approach
Monitor and communicate competitive activity and market trends as well as formulate tactical responses and positioning
Act as primary contact for interactions with field-based reps about product related inquiries
May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
Ability to travel up to 25%
Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in biology or related discipline with 3+ years of scientific industry experience
7+ years of overall experience in a marketing role with demonstrated core competences: 4Ps, marketing mix, marketing communication, channels, segmentation, value proposition, market research analysis, and marketing program development and execution
Experience in marketing to clinical customers
Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to present publicly to varying audience sizes
Ability to collaborate across functional teams and geographies
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to distill complex information into concise and easy to understand concepts
Ability to travel overnight or a for a couple of days about once a month
EducationBachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology
MBA preferred
Marketing Qualifications:Strong customer focus in terms of understanding customer needs, drivers and putting these at the forefront of business decisions
Demonstrated success in creating and delivering presentations and trainings for a wide variety of audiences, including sales teams, regional marketing and customers
Exceptional skill in developing and executing complex digital marketing initiatives including authoring content for webpages, display advertising, search engine marketing (SEM) and optimization (SEO), social, video and automation approaches
Creative intuition on design and messaging that resonates with customers and an ability to learn from previous marketing campaigns to improve performance
Business Acumen:Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to varying audience sizes
Fast and self-starter learner, with the ability to work in a dynamic team adapting quickly to a changing environment
Possess excellent project management, organization, time-management, planning, and budgeting skills
Ability to translate metrics in actionable business decisions
Collaborative partner who can influence across functional teams and geographies in a complex, highly matrixed organization
